Jasper

Jasper

Smooth
Round
Little spine

Perfectly pink
Expensive
Diamond-like

Pulled down
Pulled up
Pushed aside

Revealed to
The air
Exposed

Black lacy
Cloth
Pulled aside

One strip up
Another down
And another down

Exposing a bosom
Of two pale rubies

Two spinels
Two garnets

Melted plasticity
In between fingers
Underneath onyx
Coral pearls lay

Redshifted
White hot stars
Twinkling

Beckoning
With their
Rose quartz

Rigid
Risen
Readable

Hieroglyphs
Saying that
They have vigor

For something
Primitive
Comforting

Muscle contraction
Nerves tensed
Thoughts bonded

Unclasped
Unbuttoned
Let loose
Finely glassed

Globes of
An entire world
Hemispheres
Never explored

Fitted with fine
Stones
Marking landmarks

Those
Wonderful
Glacier

Bumps
Bristling
With the cold

Clusters of quartz
Forming underneath
Lacy fabric

Mischievously awaiting
To be uncovered
And seen

Garter

Garter

To what pleasure is this
Rear heart’s
Upside down
Exposure owed?

What caused this
Subtle reveal,
Slowing down the seconds
Into years?

I am enraptured.
Staring at a thing
I will never begin
To understand.

Some sort of stark
That I will never
Grow too fond of
To find it banal.

And it’s okay.
I don’t want to.
I’d rather stare
And be enraptured

To take care of
The manacles of
An alluringly
Articulate statue.
