There was always music
Erupting from the monolithic statue
For the whole country
To envy from below the hill

Every night new people would arrive
Painting the statue every day
Perpetually and irrevocably
More red

They were new every night
This cluster of people
An offshoot of one group
Or another

But every night
For reasons left to wonder
A group gathered on the hill
And lit up the same site

The country below could always see
Those red lights who came to be
Turned on by the gatherers
Irreplaceable by a foreign group

The painters were there always
No one could do what they did
Nor have the visions they could
So the rest watched from afar

As the music boons
And triumphant tunes
Soundtracked an infrastructure
Used to infuse the statue with red
