Holding

Holding

I can still feel you breathing
You’re holding on

To me, my arm, my chest
I can feel your gentle breath

Gliding across the dunes of my shirt
That rise up when you grab tighter

I can feel your lips on my cheek
The static shock of butterfly wings

The features I know are there
Right beside me

Before diving into the fractals
Of paralyzing passions

And the electricity rides forth
On waves of released thoughts

Pent up, dwelled upon thoughts
I thought were frowned upon

Lead me
Keep breathing

Keep the rhythm flowing
Let the waves continue going

About their way, out the drain
To cycle back into my veins

The engine kicks up, the motor spits
Coming back to see the exhaust

Resting now beside you
Thinking of just past events
