Insurmounted

Salam.

What cruelty these
Cosmos voice at us.

As context grimly waxes
And ecstacy wanes, the pain
Of not holding you now
Mounts like mounts
Corroding into sunshot dunes
Of expansive, golden deserts.

Samawi
By recognizing
I’ll one day hold you again.

The insurmounted be damned.
