Jessica Metamorphose

We met perfectly

Had a date at the diner
As if this were the 60’s

Hipsterish dress
And a sweet face

A cute mole on your cheek
And pathways we’d seek

Walking on in the rain
To the park in autumn vanes

In your cozy home
Like Coraline’s apartments

There was wonder
Around every corner

Wintertides in December
A force awakens in theaters

Lived through decades

Not a knight in shining armor?
Maybe I felt like it back then

When I was with you
And could hold your hand

When I could drive you
To the burger joint you worked

And then Valentine’s day
Where I knew something

Was wrong
I thought you were moving

But no
You were moving on
