About to fire up the incense and put on some music (and no, for once that isn’t a metaphor for anything). I guess I’m a motherfucking blogger now. God dammit.
That’s the one thing I like to joke about regarding online bullshit, you know? Whenever something mildly annoys me, I mention “I’m gonna go home and blog about this later” because that’s what a stereotypical tumblrina would do. But fuck me if I don’t actually have a blog in this website.
I’ve always wanted to have some kind of journal since I read Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I was much younger then, and thought I could actually stick to writing in a journal daily. I think I petered out of writing halfway through day one. So I didn’t have the attention span for that, whatever.
FUNNY, NOW THAT I FIND MYSELF RUNNING IN CIRCLES
When I got the idea to start writing poetry instead of fiction (after years of writing only fiction) was because I had more of an attention span for finishing poetry in one fell swoop rather than sticking with a story for a month or two. It took me a year to write Natural from start to finish. Even then, I consider it to be fairly dense. Even might take another look at it and expand upon it.
Today I plugged in poem number 700 into my laptop. “Mornings” I wrote about my girlfriend took the throne of my 700th, and it’s a pretty good one if I do say so myself. It should pop up here sometime in… May. Something to look forward to. Also that recording of Slam, Bitch, Slam should be up and coming very soon, too.
Some of you may have noticed and scrolled past an essay titled JAKE Theory on your feeds. Yeah, that was a monster. Not a monster like ENGRAEYGED but it was so fun to write. It’s a political theory I developed that relies upon annexing places that already exist to make an international government. Light reading!
As far as anything coming up, I’m not sure what to do. This journal’s a little short, as it’s late at night and I don’t have anything else of substance to tell you until next time.
I’ve been thinking about starting a critique section of this site, where I become a critic to a bunch of media genres? Any interest in that? Let me know.
Any questions for me? Seriously, you can ask me about influences, a particular piece, or about me. I’ll try to answer as best I can!
In the meantime, more poetry, more photography, and some audio coming up in a little bit. Keep on keeping on, and thank you again for tuning in to Radio Reality City! Each one of you is appreciated!
