I’d been wanting to practice any kind of close ups. So these are some close ups of dyed hair, allowed by a friend of mine named Lauren (whom I’ll thank again for letting me get these). Something about the aesthetic of dyed hair has always been interesting to me, in the sense of “unnatural natural” non sequitur like in the metal flowers I make and the stuff I write about nature taking back concrete structures. Dyed hair strikes me kinda like that. Natural, but not. Unnatural, but being taken back. With a wider lens, there would be a lot more to see, like in the second shot of this series which came from the underside of her hair. It was more intensely colored there for some reason. Yet, it’s neat. Damn neat. Thanks again, Lauren!
