Indigenous Land Rights

Buried in old
Dirt as old
As she was
When she died

Quietly for once
Not yowling
Or crying
But silently

Suddenly
Overnight

When we dug
The hole
Three feet deep
And set the

Blanket wrapped
Body in

The fleas
On her were doomed
To die alongside
Their petrified
Colony
