tendons move
girders of bone
with spider webs
of sagacious wires
running within

Pipes shape frames
to be plumbed
and heights to
reach on ramshackle
ladder strands
of chromosomes
built on another.

Plywood sheets
of skin wrap
around like a tarp
to protect from
inclement weather
when the device
must go on.

Drywall systems
immunize buildings
to vandals of
viruses and bacteria
that spray paint
their burners all
over the walls.

Hydraulics heave
their way, these
and their sewers
built up by
machines of
