Fissuring leather
Canyons between white
Ash print pattern
A grasp of wire
Wrapped around
Aged armor,
Enforced by
Thick strands
Of conduction,
A gloved rod
Of lightning
In red cords
And weathered
Mechanical roots
Coil stiff
As a tower
Shield bolted,
Riveted, and
Stitched against
Its ancient
Backdrop, these
Rusting yet
Glistening strands
Of harrowed maybes
And olden
Memories stand
Still weathered
And warding,
Ever present
And protecting.
