Ears ringing
Sight spinning

I don’t have
To listen
To your

On the ground
Leaning against
A column

How many more
Do I have to kill?

‘Snap out of it’
You yelled

‘Don’t hurt us’
They screamed

How could I describe
That way I can inspire

Falling out
Of that thing
I once had
A hold of

I can’t see
What they see

Torn and
Tossed away
To the wind

You’re weak
Just like them

Look at us
We were architects
Built monuments

Levelled buildings
To plant forests

So noble in our gaffe
We really thought
We had a cause

But look at us
In our haste

We let it go to waste

Now look at our scars
Keep trying to
Make progress
Sacrificing every promise

I might have my issues

Every empty pill bottle
Every neck I’ve throttled

But I’ve seen the hurt
You’ve caused

I can’t manipulate
My way out of
Spineless threats
From you

No forgiving
No forgetting
Only fortifying

With any pill
Any cure
Any blackout
We prefer

To feeling

So we

Failing lynching
With vapid prescriptions

If I don’t kill you soon
You son of a bitch
Then you better hope
That the dead men will
