Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park

Oatmeal and raisin
At the top of the mountain
Where pilgrims
Gather in a hollow
In wagons which others will
Definitely follow

Downpour’s begun
Spitting at your grass
Where cows and asses
Chew their cud
And the mountain’s pass
Becomes dense mud

Coffee beans grinding
To keep the senses alive
And with our leather coats
To fight and break the wind
Corral the bulls upwards
Keep treading paths onwards

Make camp at dusk
Light a fire so brusque
Cook your meals in the tin
Keep the cold from getting in
Look at the land spread below
Forward is the only way to go
