Release from Escape

Release from Escape

That valley was frozen
The school, darkened
Was lifted by a silent

When the gathering outside
Stood still
Every particle of glitter and confetti
Shone from the fire lighted stills

When one may desire escape
But from what?
This ultimate escape?
Leave this place?

No one knows
They’ve escaped for so long that
They’re lost and far gone

Never knowing again a release
For there is no release from release

One might try to see the light
Beyond the fire
But may they find none
To put up with an escapist’s escape
